100 years ago, seven members of the Providence Water Supply Board forcibly removed residents from five villages in Scituate, Rhode Island, to create a new water supply for the 250,000 residents of the city. Today, the Scituate Reservoir provides water to two-thirds of the state of Rhode Island. Although the demand for the reservoir has changed significantly, much of the distribution infrastructure and pipes remain the same.
In the documentary Blood and Watershed, uncover the true story which led to the creation of the reservoir, and watch as filmmaker Evan Villari attempts to engage with Providence Water, only to discover the vulnerability of the supply and sanctity of family.
