Rhode Island PBS is pleased to announce a streaming partnership with WBUR, Boston's NPR News Station, to present a Candidate Forum on Energy and the Environment: MA Governor's Race in the interest of our members and viewers in Massachusetts.
WHAT:
WBUR and the Environmental League of Massachusetts (ELM) present this forum with the Massachusetts gubernatorial candidates. Moderated by Radio Boston host Tiziana Dearing, the candidates' discussion will focus on the most pertinent energy and environmental issues affecting the Commonwealth.

WHO:
Sonia Chang-Diaz, state senator
Sonia Chang-Díaz is a former public school teacher and the first Latina and Asian-American to serve in the Massachusetts State Senate, representing the 2nd Suffolk district as a member of the Democratic Party. She entered politics while serving as a legislative aide for Massachusetts Senator Cheryl Jacques and as a campaign manager for MassEquality. As Senator, Chang-Díaz served as the chair of the Education Committee, vice-chair of the Senate Redistricting Committee, and assistant vice-chair of the Ways and Means Committee.
Maura Healey, attorney general
Maura Healey serves as Massachusetts Attorney General. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
Hired by Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley in 2007, Healey served as chief of the Civil Rights Division, where she spearheaded the state's challenge to the federal Defense of Marriage Act. She was then appointed chief of the Public Protection and Advocacy Bureau and then chief of the Business and Labor Bureau before resigning in 2013 to run for attorney general in 2014. Healey was reelected in 2018.
