In We Hold These Truths, Federal Judge Douglas Ginsburg explores the promise and enduring influence of America’s Declaration of Independence, both at home and around the world. This promissory note for liberty inspired over 100 nations seeking their independence. In the United States, it influenced the abolitionist movement, the Women’s Suffrage movement, and iconic civil rights figures.
The Tragically Hip: A National Celebration- July 3 at 9:30 p.m.
The Tragically Hip has been at the heart of the Canadian musical zeitgeist for 40 years, evoking a strong emotional connection between their music and their fans that remains unrivaled. In 2015, the band’s captivating lead singer, Gord Downie, was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer, a prognosis that shook a nation. Having just finished their latest record, Man Machine Poem, it seemed only appropriate to take it out on tour, a tour that felt like a farewell. The 15-show run culminated in a National Celebration on August 20, 2016, at the K-Rock Centre in The Tragically Hip’s hometown of Kingston, Ontario – their last performance as a five-piece band. The Tragically Hip - A National Celebration captures this historic concert, revealing the emotion of a country as they said goodbye to their fearless frontman.

America's favorite Independence Day celebration, A Capitol Fourth, features well-known musical artists and puts viewers front and center for the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the nation. A Capitol Fourth is broadcast to millions at home and to our troops watching around the world.
Treasures Inside the Museum Season 5 (Continues) - Fridays at 8:30 p.m., Saturdays at 12:30 p.m., and Sundays at 7 p.m.
Treasures Inside the Museum steps into the back rooms of more than a dozen museums throughout Southern New England, delving into their treasured collections and uncovering pieces that often remain hidden away. Season 5 features the Rosecliff Exhibit, Smith Castle, Rose Island, Providence Library, Casey Farm, The Sailing Museum, Washington Lodge No. 3, The National Museum of American Illustration, Lippett House, The Portsmouth Historical Society, The Artillery Company of Newport, and Fort Adams.

Each episode delivers live performances from the artists, followed by intimate interviews, where singers and bands share their insights into the local music scene and the creative inspiration behind the pieces they perform.

Mustangs: America's Wild Horses - July 29 at 9 p.m.
The wild horse, known as the mustang, is the enduring icon of America. But in modern times it has become entangled in controversy and bureaucracy, and now its future is in question. Executive produced by Robert Redford, the film includes songs by Bruce Springsteen, Emmylou Harris and Willie Nelson.
Judy Collins: Wildflowers in Concert- July 31 at 9:30 p.m.
Filmed before a live audience at Town Hall in New York City, this concert features the legendary folk singer performing her groundbreaking 1967 album, Wildflowers. Songs include “Since You Asked," "Sky Fell," "Albatross,” and Judy’s chart-topping rendition on Joni Mitchell’s “Both Sides Now.” Judy closes the concert with one of her signature songs, “Send in the Clowns.”
