Four-legged friends really do have the ability to change our lives. Puppy School, a new feel-good series, helps families navigate the challenges that come with puppy parenthood. This new series airs Mondays at 10 p.m. starting April 3 on WSBE Rhode Island PBS.
In each of the four parts of Puppy School, three leading dog experts in the U.K., Oli Juste, Katie Patmore, and Hannah Molloy, document the training of the puppies as well as the teaching of their owners.
These new puppy parents hope their new furry family member will help them with a personal issue, such as anxiety or autism. The trainers must take their time to get to know the puppy and the family to make sure both are prepared for the challenges that may arise.
Episode 101 - Monday, April 3 at 10 p.m.
New live-in couple Hannah and Jack encounter differing parenting styles for their bouncy Labrador Reuben; divorcee Laura has her hands full with a giant Newfoundland puppy; and Deepti and Dave contend with a feisty Dachshund puppy adopted while undergoing cancer treatment.
Episode 102 - Monday, April 10 at 10 p.m.
Dinah is protective of her Pomeranian puppy Bambi, a present from her boyfriend Sonny after her MS diagnosis. English Bulldog Ronnie is a companion for Katie's daughter, Mia, but has a penchant for biting and disrupting. And former army major Alan hopes his chocolate Labrador puppy Molly will help him adjust after his wife passed away.
Episode 103 - Monday, April 17 at 10 p.m.
Life is hectic for Ella, a mother of four young children and boisterous Labrador puppy Luna. Teachers Julie and Richard hope their Luna – a Cocker Spaniel puppy – will fill their empty nest. And the Chinery family hopes that Cockerpoo Benji will bring them together after a tragic death.
Episode 104 - Monday, April 24 at 10 p.m.
Kerri limited mobility and wants an assistance dog, but her choice of breed is going to be a challenge – Galaxy is a tiny French Bulldog-Pug cross. 36-year-old Jo and 60-year-old Paul have a 'fur baby' Cavachon puppy as a test of how the couple’s relationship is developing. And Gemma and Rob recently brought Labrador Blaze into the family to help their young son Matthew deal with stress and frustration.
