'Uncorked!' Returns April 21 at the WaterFire Arts Center

Our biggest event of the year is just around the corner! Returning for its 23rd year, Uncorked! A Food and Wine Event will be held on Friday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

Uncorked! is the station’s largest fundraising event. Emceed this year by WJAR’s Mario Hilario, the annual fundraiser offers delicious food and drink samples, live and silent auctions, and entertainment. Restaurants and confectionaries across Rhode Island will prepare popular menu items, and notable local breweries, distilleries, and vineyards will mix and pour their most impressive beverages. Joining Rhode Island PBS this year as the celebrity guest is Chef Ming Tsai, host of the PBS show Simply Ming. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Chef Tsai, try his new MingsBings plant-based & gluten-free pockets, and purchase a copy of his book, Simply Ming One-Pot Meals: Quick, Healthy & Affordable Recipes

Bidding for the live and silent auctions begin on event night. In addition to the auctions, Rhode Island PBS is excited to announce a new raffle component featuring a Ross-Simons diamond necklace. Tickets for the raffle go on sale March 1 and will be available for purchase at the event. Rhode Island PBS will announce the winner the night of April 21.

Ticket sales for Uncorked! also begin on March 1. Tickets are limited, but a small number may be available at the door. Advance ticket pricing for the event will be available through March 22, with VIP tickets starting at $150 and general admission at $100. After March 22, VIP tickets will be $175, and general admission will be $150. VIP tickets include a pre-event reception at 6:15 p.m. 

As this is a food and wine event, all guests must be 21 years and older to attend. All ticket purchases are available through ripbs.org.

About Chef Ming Tsai 

Chef Tsai is a James Beard & Emmy Award-Winning chef, philanthropist, T.V. personality, and entrepreneur. He is the creator of award-winning restaurants, author of five cookbooks, and current host/executive producer of PBS-TV’s Simply Ming. In 2022, Chef Tsai became Iron Chef Tsai as he joined the cast of 5 world-class chefs in the Netflix series Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend.
