To celebrate more than 50 years of public television excellence, WSBE Rhode Island PBS presents An Evening Uncorked at Home!, its virtual fundraising event beginning Friday, October 1.
In response to the challenges met last year, Rhode Island PBS had pivoted the 20th anniversary of their signature event to a virtual experience. For the continued safety of guests and staff, the annual fundraiser returns as a virtual event this fall.
Items offered in the auction for An Evening Uncorked at Home! include a trip for two to São Miguel with the Azorean Green Bean Maria Lawton, two tickets to Joe Bonamassa at the Providence Performing Arts Center, an encounter with red pandas at Roger Williams Park Zoo, weekend getaways, and more.
To bring the An Evening Uncorked! experience home to viewers, the online-only auction event culminates with a 30-minute broadcast and live stream on Wednesday, October 13 at 8 p.m. The auction closes at 9 p.m.
The television special will showcase the premium items and feature a special performance from Rhode Island folk music legends, Atwater-Donnelly, filmed at The Towers in Narragansett. The award-winning, internationally acclaimed duo Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly will present a thrilling, unique blend of traditional American and Celtic folk songs.
Viewers will also see why their support matters to the community in a segment that highlights the Rhode Island PBS Education Services Department's work in and out of classrooms, as well as a segment that underscores the station’s goal for local production and commitment to local storytelling.
To pair with the television special, Rhode Island PBS will offer a Sip & Bid Party Package.
