For fans of small-town mysteries, the BBC Birmingham series The Coroner blends crime and drama to examine the life of a coroner who specializes in strange deaths.
Claire Goose stars as Jane Kennedy who returns to her hometown of Lighthaven, a fictional town on the South Devon coast, to work as the town coroner. Together with Detective Sergeant Davey Higgins, played by Matt Bardock, Jane investigates any sudden, violent, or unexplained deaths in the South Hams district of South Devon.
To make matters more interesting, Jane and Davey used to date and were high school sweethearts before Davey broke Jane’s heart. Follow along as these two navigate everything from dating to serial murder conspiracies in The Coroner.
The Coroner airs Tuesdays at 1 p.m., beginning September 21 on WSBE Rhode Island PBS.
