Set amidst the historical turbulence of the late 1960s, Season 5 follows the dissolution of the Oxford City Police force – a moment of reckoning for the principal characters. Shaun Evans (The Take, Silk) returns as the cerebral and solitary Detective Sergeant Endeavour Morse, newly-promoted and faced with a mounting score of cases to solve. Roger Allam (Midsomer Murders, Game of Thrones) costars as Fred Thursday, Morse’s veteran partner and trusted mentor, and Abigail Thaw (Poirot, Vanity Fair) guest stars as Dorothea Frazil.

Past and present collide in Oxford as the auction of a priceless Fabregé Egg gets underway. But when a burglary attempt is reported, Morse and Thursday are drawn into a bigger case with much deadlier consequences. Meanwhile, Endeavour struggles to mentor the young detective constable George Fancy.
“Cartouche” - March 26 at 9 p.m.
The unexplained poisoning of a former policeman leads Morse and Thursday to a local cinema, which is hosting the cast and crew of a Hollywood horror film. While some are convinced that the film is plagued by an Egyptian curse, things take a dramatic turn when the cinema organist is murdered as well. With long-kept secrets coming to surface, Endeavour finds an unnerving revenge plot in the depths of Oxford’s criminal underworld.
“Passenger” - April 2 at 9 p.m.
Endeavour investigates the disappearance of a local woman, but is haunted by a cold case from several years ago – the murder of a teenager that went unsolved. Meanwhile, Thursday follows a hijacking case that he suspects is tied to a local gang.
“Colours” - April 9 at 9 p.m.
A photoshoot turns sinister when one of the models is found dead, and the investigation grows even more tense when Thursday’s involvement is called into question. With his partner sidelined, Endeavour joins forces with Strange, but family secrets, political agendas, and thwarted love affairs threaten to drive their friendship to the breaking point.
“Quartet” - April 16 at 9 p.m.
An attempted murder at an international sporting event opens a new case for Morse and Thursday, but their investigation is quickly brought to an unexpected end. Determined to unravel a bigger assassination plot, Endeavour descends into the murky world of espionage to find a long-held secret at the heart of the Oxford community. Meanwhile, Thursday attempts to protect a battered wife from her violent husband, which poses a difficult moral dilemma.
“Icarus” - April 23 at 9 p.m.
After the mysterious disappearance of a local teacher, Endeavour is tasked with investigating a public school. But when a body is discovered unexpectedly, he is forced to question the loyalties of those around him – and must uncover the truth before more people are hurt. Thursday breaks new ground in the murder cases linked to a notorious gang, but his life is turned upside-down when a close relative returns.
